Ferry Gate and Queue Changes in Downtown S.F. Coming Tuesday, Feb. 18

Beginning on Tuesday, February 18, Richmond ferry arrivals and departures will be reassigned to Gate E at the Downtown San Francisco Ferry Terminal. Also, there will be access and queuing changes for Alameda/Oakland and Harbor Bay passengers in Downtown San Francisco.

Above is a map with all of the queuing and gate changes that will take effect on Tuesday, February 18.

Here’s a description of the changes by route:

Richmond

Richmond-bound passengers should queue at Gate E in San Francisco beginning on Tuesday, February 18. Gate E is directly north of Gate F, where Richmond passengers currently queue. If the queue extends beyond the passenger shelter, it will wrap toward the Bay along the driveway leading to the rear of the Ferry Building as indicated on the map above.

Due to construction on the pedestrian bridge at Embarcadero and Mission Street, access to Gate E will only be available via the promenade entrance near the Ferry Building.

Alameda/Oakland

Passengers bound for Alameda and Oakland will continue to use Gate G in San Francisco. However, beginning on February 18 and extending for roughly two weeks, the pedestrian bridge at Embarcadero and Mission Street will be closed for construction.

This means that passengers will need to access Gate G via the newly opened promenade near the Ferry Building. Queues for Alameda/Oakland service will remain to the right when looking south toward the Bay Bridge, and will wrap around the construction site and Ag Building as needed, per the map above.

Harbor Bay

Harbor Bay-bound passengers will continue to use Gate F in San Francisco. Passengers will continue to wrap around the weather covering and benches on the promenade near Gate F. If the queue extends beyond the promenade, passengers will queue alongside Richmond passengers to the east (bayside).

Due to construction on the pedestrian bridge at Embarcadero and Mission Street, access to Gate F will only be available via the promenade entrance near the Ferry Building.

Vallejo

There are no changes at this time for our Vallejo passengers. You will remain at Gate B in San Francisco, north of the Ferry Building.
