MORE WEEKDAY SERVICE THAN EVER BEFORE BEGINS JULY 1

It’s been said that things will never be the same. And why should they be? This is your chance to start fresh. San Francisco Bay Ferry (SFBF) is the cool, calm and comfortable way to cross the bay. And while you’ve been staying home, they’ve been working to make it better than ever, with flexible schedules, new routes and lower fares. Not to mention rigorous health and safety measures.

Ferry service across the Bay is about to get much more convenient. That’s right, starting July 1 SFBF will be operating under all new schedules with a 30 percent increase in service levels and more weekday departures than ever before. And while service does not currently include the South San Francisco ferry route, it is scheduled to resume in October 2021 with eight additional daily transbay departures.

The new, more robust and frequent service schedules are focused on bringing passengers back, accommodating expected changes in travel patterns and diversifying our ridership base. Check out the new schedules here.

If you’ve ever ridden the ferry, you know that it’s the best way to cross the Bay. To make it even better, SFBF is offering significantly discounting fares on all routes for the next year. The fare reductions are up 20 percent off of regular fares, depending on the route. The new rates are available here.

Also, the new service from the Alameda Seaplane Lagoon ferry terminal will offer direct 20-minute trips between the Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal at Alameda Point and Downtown San Francisco. There’s great bicycle and pedestrian access to Seaplane Lagoon via the Cross Alameda Trail, and direct AC Transit service is coming in August. This is the best option for those who live on Alameda Island and will be traveling during the peak commute period or want to stay in the City until the late evening. For most midday and all weekend service, travelers should use the Oakland & Alameda route operating out of Main Street Alameda. The new Seaplane Lagoon terminal is about 1.5 miles from the Main Street Alameda terminal.
